CLASS DESCRIPTION
Splash pads have become one of the most popular and inclusive aquatic amenities for parks and recreation agencies of all sizes. In this session, participants will explore the full process of bringing a splash pad to their community—from early planning and concept development to design considerations and long-term success. Led by industry expert Geneviève Dumas, this class provides a practical, step-by-step overview of how to align splash pad projects with community needs, site constraints, budgets, and operational goals.
Attendees will gain insight into why splash pads are such a valuable community asset, how to approach decision-making with stakeholders, and what factors contribute to engaging, playful, and sustainable designs. Real-world examples and industry best practices will help participants understand how to move confidently from idea to implementation.
