The Amazon box landed on our front door-step with a satisfying thud. The UPS driver rang the doorbell and hustled back to his truck leaving tracks in the freshly fallen snow, intent on the next delivery. My wife grabbed the box, brought it into the kitchen and called the girls, “Julia, Isabel! Your swimsuits are here!”
With a whoop, followed quickly by the pounding of 10-year-old feet down our front stairs, the girls rushed to the kitchen, tore open the packages and began changing into their new suits.
I happened to walk in mid-changeover.
