There are a few issues in the parks and rec realm that seem to constantly rear their ugly heads in departments across the country-geese.
Canada Geese, to be more specific, but domestic geese also run afoul (pun intended) of parks and rec maintenance staffs as well. These fowls (and I use that term with all the respect I can muster) have been an increasingly challenging-and costly-problem for parks departments.
In the case of Canada Geese, this has been true since the 1970s when the federal government took them under its wing after they neared extinction due to unregulated hunting and drainage of wetlands.
