Breaking, Jumping, And Vaulting

Jump roping, parkour, and breakdancing are here to stay. What makes all of these sports special is the lack of organization and any costs for a child to participate. That’s right, the sports are free to play all day and do not require much in the way of money or equipment to get started. The benefits might not sound like much, but for kids who have working parents, single parents, or come from low-income families without the resources to join neighborhood leagues or make practices and games every week, these sports are a breath of fresh air.

These relatively new sports provide intense, full-body workouts that require minimal equipment: music, jump ropes, a piece of cardboard, and some foam blocks. Of the three activities, parkour is the most expensive to set up, but some participants may already have gym equipment that can be utilized.
