Honoring the past while building a legacy

Nostalgia runs deep in Jersey Village, Texas. Home to over 8,000 residents, this close-knit community is built on decades of shared experiences, familiar faces, and stories that tend to begin with, “Do you remember when …?” At the center of many of those memories is Carol Fox Park.

For many in Jersey Village and for more than 30 years, Carol Fox Park has been more than a playground. It’s where they climbed as children, gathered with neighbors, and later brought their own families to play. And, quite literally, that history and sentiment are etched in stone. Throughout the park, the signatures of more than 400 volunteers who helped construct the original playground in 1992 are preserved in the concrete. That type of investment doesn’t fade easily.

So, when the Jersey Village Parks and Recreation Department determined it was time to replace the aging structure, this wasn’t a typical renovation project. The equipment needed modernization. Safety standards had evolved. Expectations had changed. But the emotional weight of the place remained.

The message was clear: the new park had to be something special. It needed to feel unique and forward-looking, while still honoring the legacy of the past.
